The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) announced a major expansion of its tuition-free program known as the San Diego Promise making all recent high school graduates who are first-time, full-time students eligible to receive two free years of college.
Participating students may attend San Diego Miramar College starting fall of 2018.
In 2016-2017, California community colleges began to witness a decline in enrollment. However, San Diego Miramar College has been able to “buck that trend” and continue to outpace most of California’s community colleges in terms of enrollment growth.

This Fall 2018, San Diego City, Mesa and Miramar Colleges are in the process of implementing a new student system: mySDCCD. On July 10, students who submitted a financial aid application for Fall 2018 were invited to check out the new mySDCCD portal to view their financial aid information only.
Women’s volleyball becomes the 6th intercollegiate sport at San Diego Miramar College starting Aug. 24 when the Jets host their inaugural match vs. Cuyamaca College. The match gets underway at 5pm inside Hourglass Fieldhouse located on the south end of campus.
The San Diego Miramar College aviation maintenance program received a $25,000.00 grant from the Delta Airlines Foundation to help prepare future aviation professionals. San Diego Miramar College is one of just ten aviation maintenance training schools nationwide to receive a Delta Airlines Foundation grant in 2018.

For the second consecutive year, Boeing visited the Miramar College campus looking for qualified professionals to join the aerospace company. A Boeing hiring event took place Sept. 27 & Sept. 28. An informational presentation and pre-screening was held Thursday, Sept. 27 from 1pm-4:30pm in K1-202. Selected candidates were scheduled for interviews on Sept. 28.
The Child Development Center at San Diego Miramar College had its National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation reaffirmed for a five-year term through January 1, 2024.
